LA COTE D’AZUR : UN ECRIN POUR LE JAZZ

Depuis le début du XXe siècle, la Côte d’Azur aime le jazz et le prouve encore chaque année.  

Deux des plus importants Festival de Jazz s’y déroulent chaque été au mois de Juillet dans des cadres idylliques.

 

Du 14 au 25 juillet 2010 ; le 50^e festival international JAZZ A JUAN  dans la pinède Gould avec en mur de scène l’ouverture symbolique sur la Méditerranée. 

Si Juan les Pins accueille, en 1960, son premier Festival, l’histoire d’amour avec le jazz a débuté en 1923 avec l’arrivée au Cap D’antibes de Geral Murphy et son épouse venus des Etats-Unis. Passionné de musique afro-américaine, il sera à l’origine de l’engouement de la ville pour cette musique. 

Depuis sa création, de nombreuses personnalités s’y sont produites comme : Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles, Stan Getz, Miles Davis, Sarah Vaughan, Duke Ellington ou plus récemment : Dee Dee Bridgewater, Diana Krall.

 

Du17 au 24 juillet 2010, Le premier Festival International de jazz au monde proposera dans le cadre enchanteur des Arènes de Cimiez au milieu des Oliviers une programmation diversifiée.

 

C’est en 1948 que le premier Festival international de jazz à Nice fut créé au Casino Municipal et à l’Opéra, mais ce sera en 1994 que le Festival de Nice prendra le nom de Nice Jazz Festival.

 

Cette année encore des personnalités très diverses viendront se produire à l’ombre des Oliviers ; Al Jareau, Herbie Hancock, Earth Wind and fire, Laurent Garnier, Pink Martini ou André Ceccarelli et Maurane qui rendront hommage à Claude Nougaro.

   

  Les plus astucieux réservent déjà leurs places pour ses deux rendez-vous de prestige.

From 17th on July 24th, 2010, The first International Festival of jazz to the world will propose in the charming setting of the Arenas of Cimiez in the middle of olive tree a diversified programming.

 In 1948, the first international Festival of jazz in Nice was created to the Municipal Casino and to the Opera, but it will be in 1994 when the Festival of Nice will take the name of Nice Jazz Festival. 

This year still very diverse personalities will come to occur in the shade of olive trees; Al Jareau, Herbie Hancock, Earth Wind and fire, Laurent Garnier, Pink Martini or André Ceccarelli and Maurane For a Trbute to Claude Nougaro.
